Retail Excellence Retail Productivity Review Q3 2020

See the latest Grant Thornton Retail Excellence Retail Productivity Review for Q3. The Grant Thornton Retail Excellence Retail Productivity Review provides the most in-depth retail industry and sectoral analysis available today. The Review monitors overall industry performance and sectoral performance. The Review aggregates and analyses data from over 4,500 retail stores in Ireland. Retail Excellence collated data through on-line survey.

Damian Gleeson, Head of Retail, comments on the Q3 findings:

The results of the Grant Thornton Retail Excellence Retail Productivity Review for Q3 which was pre level 5 restrictions had seen some sectors starting to bounce back from Q2 lows.  There has been a natural increase in gift purchases, growth in home, garden centre, furniture/flooring and childrenswear resurging also, demonstrating consumer demand in these sectors.

As working from home continues to be the norm and the casualisation of society continues, there has been a natural drop off in clothing and footwear sales as witnesses earlier this year. Jewellery and hot beverages have also taken a hit.
