Peter joined Grant Thornton in 2006 from a Big Four firm where he established a reputation as one of Ireland’s leading financial advisor for on-shore wind projects.
Since joining the firm, he has been mandated as lead advisor to over 30 on-shore wind farm projects with a build cost in excess of €600m.
Peter has also provided advice to companies operating in the Water Industry, Environment Sector (with a particular focus on recycling and waste management), Energy Efficiency Sector and Transportation Industry.
Peter has significant experience in project financing small and large scale on-shore wind farms in Ireland and has also advised on sales transactions involving on-shore wind farm projects in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
He has an in depth understanding of the Irish Single Electricity Market (“SEM”) and has advised several developers and financial institutions on the implementation of what is termed the Supplier – Lite business model. This understanding of the SEM from both a generator and supplier perspective gives Peter a unique insight into the workings of the SEM.
In terms of public sector experience he has advised the former Department of Public Enterprise on the development strategy for the Digital Hub Project in Dublin and devised a project oversight model.
Peter also carried out a review of current project monitoring systems in relation to spend in public transport within the former Department of Public Enterprise.
