David is a Director in our insurance practice and has over 10 years’ experience providing assurance and advisory services to the insurance sector, having previously worked in the insurance practice of a big four firm.
David has provided services to all segments of the insurance industry, including; insurance & reinsurance entities (both life and non-life), captive (re)insurers and insurance brokers. He is a member of the Grant Thornton International IFRS 17 technical working group. David brings a wealth of IFRS and Irish GAAP insurance financial reporting experience having led projects such as the implementation of IFRS 17 at a domestic bancassurer.
David has extensive experience delivering assurance (external and internal audit), accounting, risk and regulatory services (IFRS, Irish and UK GAAP, US GAAP, and regulatory, including Solvency II). This includes leading cross-border teams on global engagements. In addition to his core insurance client base, David has provided assurance services to asset managers, structured finance vehicles and payment institutions to meet statutory obligations and reporting requirements imposed by regulators, including the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
