Anthony Crewe Director - Transfer Pricing Dublin, City Quay +353 (0)1 433 2523

Experience

Anthony joined Grant Thornton Ireland in 2021, moving across from the UK firm, where he had worked since 2017. He heads up the Transfer Pricing Team in Dublin and focuses on helping clients with all aspects of Transfer Pricing across a wide range of sectors and industries. This is a continuation of his previous role the Grant Thornton transfer pricing team in London.

Sector Experience

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Anthony spent 28 years working for HM Revenue and Customs. He is an extremely experienced Tax Professional, with a background in a wide variety of aspects of tax work, including Transfer Pricing, International Tax, Corporation Tax, Charities Tax and Diverted Profits Tax.

Having worked both for HMRC and in the profession, he is uniquely qualified to view Transfer Pricing issues from both sides. He can fully understand the clients commercial approach and needs whilst acknowledging the viewpoint of the Tax Authority. This enables him to produce solutions which mitigate the risk of misinterpretation by Revenue or other Authorities

Whilst with the UK tax Authority, he led work across complex Personal and Corporation Tax enquiries, involving highly specialised technical issues, International Tax and High Risk Corporate Programme cases. During his time in HMRC, he was an International Tax Specialist, focusing on Thin Capitalisation and Transfer Pricing. He also helped to develop HMRC's internal training programme on all aspects of International taxation.

His work has covered many sectors, including Finance, Food and Beverages, Technology, and Telecommunications. He has worked with some of the largest Multi-National Enterprises in the world but he applies exactly the same rigour in supporting smaller clients with more bespoke needs.

Professional qualifications and memberships

Anthony is an experienced advocate and presenter, having represented HMRC on numerous occasions, in a variety of forums; including an OECD programme in Moscow. He is also a qualified civil and commercial mediator.

In his spare time, Anthony loves walking in the great outdoors and is a keen supporter of Blackburn Rovers FC.
