Experience
Sinead joined Grant Thornton in 2004 as a trainee and was appointed director in 2014. Currently Sinead works in the Financial Accounting and Advisory Services group (FAAS) in Grant Thornton, which provides accounting and advisory services to both audit and non-audit clients. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Sinead worked for a large Irish bank in the financial reporting department.
Sinead spent four months on secondment to Grant Thornton Australia where she was audit senior for a wide variety of clients in the mining, distillery, medical, motor and manufacturing sectors. Sinead is currently the implementation manager on our online project management tool, ONESOURCE Workflow Manager and has transitioned a number of clients recently to the system. Sinead primarily acts as a central point of contact for Global Compliance and Reporting clients and liaises with offices of the Grant Thornton network on a daily basis.
Sector experience
She has gained significant experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Irish and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and with the preparation of statutory financial statements.
She is primarily focused on larger company audits involving consolidation and international coordination. Sinead is currently managing the coordination of share service centre audits for a client with entities across the Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) region. She is also managing the outsourced statutory accounts preparation function on behalf of a number of US listed clients. Sinead has considerable experience using Sage Accounts Production Advanced, Sage multimedia messaging service (MMS), SAP and Quickbooks. She also has provided technical guidance to clients involved in first time adoption of IFRS.
Sinead has worked closely with a wide range of clients, primarily focused on larger company audits and in particular subsidiaries of multinationals. Her sector experience includes telecommunications, technology, manufacturing and distribution.
