Shahnawaz joined Grant Thornton in 2022 as a Partner from a Big Four firm. He has over 18 years’ experience in providing audit, assurance and technical accounting advisory services to clients in the Aviation Finance, Capital Markets and Asset Management sectors.
Shahnawaz has extensive experience providing services to clients in the Aviation Finance sector in Ireland having worked with some of the largest global aviation finance companies. He specialises in assisting and advising clients on complex accounting issues relating to aircraft acquisition, classification and recognition of leases, revenue and maintenance reserves, impairment assessments, assessing working capital forecasts and cash flow projections.
Shahnawaz is lead audit partner to a large portfolio of structured finance and capital market entities covering a broad spectrum of investments including Collateralized Loan and Debt Obligations (CLOs & CDOs), Non-Performing Loans, Mortgage Backed Securities, SME Loans, Direct / Property Lending and Synthetic Credit Deals.
