Shahnawaz Mirza appointed partner at Grant Thornton Ireland as demand for financial services continues to grow

Grant Thornton Ireland has announced the appointment of Shahnawaz Mirza as Partner in its Financial Services Audit business unit as the firm continues to expand in line with growing client needs.

Mirza, who has previously worked for a Big Four firm, has over 18 years’ experience providing audit, assurance and technical accounting advisory services to clients in the Capital Markets and Asset Management Sectors.

He has extensive experience providing services to clients in the Aviation Finance sector in Ireland, having worked with some of the largest global aviation finance companies, and will lead the firms Aviation Finance Audit practice alongside his role as partner in the Financial Services Audit unit.

He specialises in assisting and advising clients on complex accounting issues relating to aircraft acquisition, classification and recognition of leases, revenue and maintenance reserves, impairment assessments, assessing working capital forecasts and cash flow projections.

This latest partner announcement reflects a broader culture of growth and ambition across the firm. Grant Thornton Ireland currently employs over 2,000 people across 8 different locations in Ireland and the Isle of Man.
