How Ireland will meet its 2030 decarbonisation target

Grant Thornton are delighted to support the upcoming Engineers Ireland seminar which focuses on how Ireland will meet its 2030 decarbonisation target.

This has become a huge issue with the government pledging as recently as this week to generate 70% of the country’s electricity supply from renewable sources. In order to meet this target the electricity network will need to manage substantially more variable renewable electricity at any one time than the current capability of 65% (which in itself is impressive being the first network in the world to reach this level). This pledge represents a myriad of challenges for stakeholders in the energy industry as well as the general public.

Grant Thornton see this transition as a significant opportunity for organisations in the Irish Energy & Utility Sector. Our dedicated Cleantech & Utilities Team are currently helping organisations from across the sector transform their processes, implement digital strategies and optimise workforces.
