Grant Thornton Ireland reaccredited with Investors in Diversity Gold

Dublin, February 2026 – Grant Thornton Ireland has been reaccredited with the prestigious Investors in Diversity Gold accreditation from the Irish Centre for Diversity (ICD). This recognition highlights the strength, consistency, and ongoing progress of the firm’s people-focused culture, its award-winning equity, diversity, and inclusion (ED&I) programmes, and its commitment to building strong community partnerships. Grant Thornton Ireland remains one of the few organisations in the country – and the largest professional services firm – to hold the Investors in Diversity Gold accreditation.

The accreditation provides a structured and holistic framework for transforming workplace cultures to foster greater equity and inclusion, ensuring everyone is supported to thrive. The Gold reaccreditation continues the firm’s ED&I journey and follows the Bronze and Silver accreditations received in 2022, as well as its initial Gold accreditation in 2023. ICD’s experts evaluated the firm across five pillars of excellence: Diverse and Inclusive Leadership; Policies, Practice and Processes; Recruitment, Retention and Progression; Recording and Monitoring; and Impact on External Diversity.

Grant Thornton has demonstrated sustained commitment across its ED&I strategy, with the firm’s Inclusion Score now standing at 84.1%, up by 3.3% since 2022. This places the firm ahead of national and sector benchmarks across the core pillars assessed.

Grant Thornton’s ED&I Programme is supported by more than 100 employee resource group members who engage with senior leadership throughout the year to ensure continued representation. The ICD highlighted several areas of excellence that contributed to the firm’s successful reaccreditation, including:

The positive impact of the firm’s Embrace Business Resource Groups, which champion inclusion across Ability, Ethnicity & Culture, Family, Gender Equality and LGBTQIA+ communities.

The integration of ED&I into the wider Sustainability strategy ensuring ED&I remains embedded in business planning and decision‑making.
The effectiveness of the firm’s “Educate, Integrate, Celebrate” approach which acknowledges different maturity levels across the ED&I landscape.

Inclusive recruitment practices, strong recognition and performance processes and a breadth of external partnerships and community engagement initiatives.
Speaking about the reaccreditation, Steve Tennant, Managing Partner, Grant Thornton Ireland and EMEA CEO of the Grant Thornton Advisors multinational platform, said:

“This reaccreditation is a significant milestone, reflecting Grant Thornton’s commitment to continuous progress and the belief and effort of our people across the firm. Our colleagues lead, shape and participate in our ED&I initiatives every day – and this recognition is theirs to celebrate. The firm has been on this journey with the Irish Centre for Diversity since 2022 and we are committed to building on our progress and continuing to embed inclusion into every part of our business.”

The reaccreditation also emphasises Grant Thornton Ireland’s role as one of Ireland’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Champions for 2025–2027, as appointed by the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment. By earning this distinction from the Irish Centre for Diversity, the firm is strengthening its contribution to the SDGs – particularly SDG 5, which focuses on gender equality.
