Shona joined Grant Thornton in 2008 to assist in the development of Business Risk Services. She then moved into the Financial Accounting and Advisory Services (FAAS) department when it was formed in 2012.
Shona has over 15 years’ experience within the financial services industry including several years with one of the largest global fund administration institutions where she became assistant vice president in product management.
Since joining Grant Thornton Shona has lead projects in a number of financial services institutions in funds, insurance, banking, credit unions and spread betting. She has led numerous projects in financial reporting and controls and compliance issues. Previously she has also worked on more diverse projects such as setting up a new office for a large organisation.
In 2009 Shona completed an 18 month secondment to the Central Bank of Ireland where she worked in the Consumer Protection department of the Financial Regulator. Her role included leading a project investigating retail banking charges and the legislation governing it. Shona has also led outsourced inspections of a number of financial institutions on behalf of the Central Bank of Ireland.
Shona also has excellent experience managing people and regularly leads large teams across various projects.
