Experience
Sinéad joined Grant Thornton in 2004 as a trainee and was appointed to Partner in January 2026. Currently Sinéad is one of three partners leading the Global Statutory Audit team.
The Global Statutory Audit offering specialises in a central audit solution to international and multinational organisations whose finance functions are operating within a shared service centre (SSC) environment. Key to the approach, Sinéad devises audit plans to maximise the efficiencies of the SSC setup and to deliver a streamlined, project managed audit process from end to end. For 5 years prior to being appointed to the role of Partner, Sinéad held Audit Principal / RI (Responsible individual) status with the firm which enabled her to sign audit opinions for UK and Irish clients.
In a previous Director role within Grant Thornton, Sinéad headed up the Global Compliance and Reporting Solutions team which coordinated and executed outsourced statutory accounts preparation and tax compliance functions on behalf of a number of US listed clients with subsidiaries across the EMEA/APAC and LATAM regions. In this role, Sinead grew the team significantly and implemented tools as efficiency enablers. She was the EMEA implementation manager of GT Collaborate, a project management tool and milestone tracker and she also led the implementation of a global Accounts Production software for the team to assist in the production of multilingual international financial statements in local gaap.
Sinead has spent a number of months in the early stages of her career on secondment in Grant Thornton Australia where she gained experience in industries such as hospitality, health care, mining and biological assets and vineyards.
Sector experience:
She has gained significant experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Irish and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and with the preparation of statutory financial statements.
She is primarily focused on larger company audits involving consolidation and international coordination. She also has provided technical guidance to clients involved in first time adoption of IFRS.
Sinead has worked closely with a wide range of clients, primarily focused on larger company audits and in particular subsidiaries of multinationals. Her sector experience includes Real Estate, Technology, Telecommunications and Executive Search.
