Michael is a director in the Actuarial & Insurance Risk team in Grant Thornton and specialises in Life Insurance. He joined the firm in 2022.
He has built up extensive end to end commercial and technical life insurance experience as an actuary for over 20 years across a number of different roles.
His experience includes:
- Pricing and product design,
- Actuarial reporting,
- Capital optimisation,
- Supporting the ORSA process,
- M&A,
- Oversight of operations and claims.
Since joining Grant Thornton, Michael has contributed to a diverse range of projects, including assisting both internal and external audit teams, participating in Solvency II peer reviews, and supporting product development and financial reporting initiatives.

- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland (FSAI)
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
- Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) through the LIA
