Karl Rohloff

Karl is a director in our funds advisory team at Grant Thornton. Before joining the firm, he worked for a global fund administrator, where he led the integration team, overseeing all new client fund setups and migrations across various fund accounting systems. Karl has also managed teams across fund accounting, financial reporting, and market data disciplines. He has extensive experience in process design, automation projects, and team build-outs.

Industry experience

With 17 years in financial services, Karl's expertise includes:

• Leading the development of ETL tools to enable straight-through processing of trades and non-standard pricing sources into accounting systems.
• Setting up and administering funds across multiple jurisdictions, including the USA, Cayman Islands, Ireland, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Australia, and South Africa.
• Designing and implementing controls for a global administrator, achieving ISAE 3402 Type II accreditation.
• Managing efficiency and enhancement projects, including automated fee billing and enhanced reporting.
• Establishing an outsourcing hub for fund accounting teams, providing intra-group services.
• Presenting at fund board meetings and demonstrating software solutions to clients.
• Acting as the primary liaison with auditors on large multi-jurisdictional engagements.
• Serving as a member of the investment pricing committee, leading fixed income derivative pricing oversight.
• Acting as a director on the boards of Irish SPVs.
