David Carroll

Experience

David is an Audit Partner specialising in the provision of audit and assurance services to clients in the capital markets and asset management sectors. He brings extensive experience advising complex and regulated entities operating across international financial markets.

David joined Grant Thornton following his role as Partner and Head of Capital Markets at a leading financial services audit practice. In that position, he led audit engagements across the aviation, funds, private equity and structured finance sectors, supporting clients through growth, transactions and evolving regulatory requirements.

Sector experience:

David has deep expertise in aviation and aircraft leasing, securitisation vehicles (including Section 110 companies), listed financial services entities and investment funds. David is particularly experienced in managing multi-jurisdictional structures, complex financial instruments and reporting under international accounting frameworks.

In addition to his client work, David has contributed to the development of professional and industry standards. He previously served on the Audit Committee of the Irish Debt Securities Association (IDSA) and on the Audit Practices Sub-Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (ICPAI).
David is known for his pragmatic approach, technical strength and ability to work closely with boards, audit committees and senior management teams to deliver high-quality assurance in demanding regulatory environments.
