Sustainability remains one of the defining challenges of our time, requiring businesses to take action in shaping a more sustainable future. The Business & Finance ESG Awards, now in their fourth year, celebrate organisations that are making a meaningful impact in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
Grant Thornton was proud to return as headline sponsor for the second consecutive year, reaffirming our commitment to recognising and supporting businesses driving real change in ESG. As companies face increasing regulatory, environmental and societal expectations, these awards continue to serve as an important platform to highlight innovation, accountability and leadership across industries.

With 18 award categories, the programme showcased achievements across key areas including:
Each category reflected the evolving priorities of businesses striving to embed ESG principles into their core strategies and long-term vision. The 2025 ESG Awards took place on 10 April at The Round Room in The Mansion House, Dublin, where this year’s finalists were recognised for their outstanding contributions to ESG.

The Grand Prix Award, in association with Grant Thornton, was proudly presented by Catherine Duggan, Head of Sustainability at Grant Thornton.
This prestigious accolade—the highest overall honour—was awarded to An Post. The postal and logistics provider also secured the Sustainable Logistics Excellence Award for its pioneering efforts in reducing carbon emissions through large-scale EV deployment and alternative fuels.
With nearly 40% of its fleet now alternatively powered, including over 1,400 EVs, An Post cut over 1,780 tonnes of CO₂ in 2024 alone. It continues to lead sustainable logistics innovation through EU-funded collaborations and infrastructure investment.
