What is the Transparency Report?

This report is designed to help our stakeholders understand us better and to demonstrate that we have the skills, resources, and tools needed to conduct high-quality audit engagements objectively and effectively. Grant Thornton continues to invest in these areas to strive for continuous quality improvement.

The past year has been a transformative one for our firm. As our first full year under a new structure, it was defined by continued progress, renewed focus and a clear commitment to delivering quality and excellence in the public interest.

Quality

Strong audit quality reviews

  • 96% of audit and assurance engagement files reviewed in 2025 were graded as either “Good quality” or “Good file, but scope for improvement”, compared with 86% in 2024, reflecting continued improvement in audit quality. 

Quality and ethics survey

  • 87% of respondents indicated a positive score in the annual Quality and Ethics Survey, measuring how our people view the firm’s emphasis on quality and ethical standards.

People and culture

Our people 

Grant Thornton Ireland employs close to 3,000 professionals across Ireland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar and Bermuda. 

Learning and development 

Audit and assurance personnel completed approximately 59,700 hours of training in 2025, averaging 53 hours per person. This included approximately 53,400 hours of technical audit training and 6,300 hours of professional development training.

Environmental performance

Sustainability initiatives

Since re-baselining emissions to 2023, Grant Thornton Ireland reduced combined Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 8% by 2025. 

100% renewable electricity was sourced across all offices on the island of Ireland, and more than 86% of colleagues commuted using public transport or active travel.

Financial performance

Firm performance 

  • Total revenue attributable to Grant Thornton for the year ended 31 December 2025 was €341.97m (2024: €329.95m). 
  • No audited entity represented more than 10% of total fees during the year.
