Strong growth of Grant Thornton’s US Business drives expansion.
Leading business advisory firm Grant Thornton Ireland has announced that it has expanded its US Irish Business Group to San Francisco in support of its growing US-based business. This expansion is a direct consequence of the firm’s robust growth in 2015 and Grant Thornton Ireland’s commitment to the needs of several of the firm’s clients headquartered in the Bay Area.
Edel Carter, a Director in Grant Thornton’s Tax practice, will manage the US Irish Business Group’s operation in San Francisco. Edel has extensive experience of working with both domestic and multinational companies, assisting them to establish overseas operations, tax efficient structuring, IP planning, R&D tax credits and tax efficient supply.
Commenting on the expansion of Grant Thornton’s US Irish Business Group to San Francisco, Paul McCann, Managing Partner said, “Following several new US client wins and a growth in activity from existing clients who have operations on the west coast, we have noticed a steadily growing need for our expertise in the region.
Having a physical presence in San Francisco will allow Grant Thornton to better service our clients, some of whom are expanding globally while others are seeking to restructure existing international tax structures. Edel’s tax expertise, corporate sector experience and her familiarity with our overseas clients make her the perfect choice to lead our US Irish Business Group in San Francisco.”
Created in 2013, Grant Thornton’s US Irish Business Group is based in Grant Thornton’s New York Midtown Office and headed up by Frankie Cronin. Its new operation in San Francisco, located in the Grant Thornton San Francisco office, means that the Group now has a presence on both US coasts.
