Sheila joined Grant Thornton in 2002 and was admitted to the partnership in 2004. She has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years and has experience in banking, corporate finance and private equity in London and the investment funds industry in Ireland.
Sheila leads Grant Thornton’s Business Risk Services team which provides risk, assurance and compliance advisory services to a wide variety of financial services and corporate clients. Her area of responsibility includes internal audit, risk and regulatory services. Her clients include retail and international banks, insurance and asset management companies. She has successfully led and delivered projects in the following areas:
- internal audit assignments
- corporate governance
- compliance and regulatory reviews
- conduct and culture risk
- data protection
- compliance advice and training.
Sheila has led a number of internal audit, compliance and risk advisory projects for a variety of large financial services clients. She has also managed a number of projects on behalf of the Central Bank of Ireland including a series of outsourced inspections focussing on governance and risk, and AML/CTF. She has advised on the development of regulatory and supervisory policy in the credit union sector.
Sheila is a Designated Licentiate of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland (LCOI). She is also a member of the Business Advisory Council of the Insurance Ireland.
