Olivia joined Grant Thornton in 1999 and was appointed Director in 2005. She works in the Financial Accounting and Advisory Services Group in Grant Thornton, a service line which provides accounting and advisory services to both audit and non-audit clients.

As well as client engagement, Olivia is responsible for training all staff on the audit software and methodology used by the firm. She has been involved in various technical projects, providing advice to clients on company restructuring issues, share option accounting and accounting for derivatives among other things.

Olivia also manages the statutory accounts preparation function for a number of high profile groups, some of which operate their shared service centre from Ireland.

She acts as Project Management Director of outsourced statutory accounts preparation function on behalf of numerous multinational groups operating from a shared service in Ireland. 

Olivia provides technical guidance to clients involved in restructuring large groups as well as other ad hoc technical accounting advice under FRS 102, IFRS and US GAAP such as business combinations, hedge accounting and share options. Most recently she has been involved in training and implementation projects with clients on the new accounting standards IFRS 9, 15 and 16 in the areas of financial instruments, revenue recognition and leases. She has been involved in a significant number of GAAP conversion projects for Irish and UK subsidiaries of large multinational groups whose parent is list on NASDAQ.

Sector experience

Olivia was overall engagement director on a listed international company/group involved in the manufacture of a range of products for the construction industry and has significant experience dealing with a range of other large clients in the construction, engineering, distribution sectors.
