Experience
Finbarr joined the firm in 2006. Prior to this he worked in the VAT department of another Dublin firm.
Finbarr is the Irish representative on Grant Thornton’s European VAT group.
Sector experience
Finbarr has experience in a broad range of taxes and specialises in VAT. He recognises that VAT is only one of many issues which clients need to consider and it is important to take account of the ‘bigger picture’ when advising on all VAT matters. He has a particular interest in advising on VAT issues arising out of Irish property transactions.
Finbarr worked in both the engineering and marketing industries before moving into tax practice and qualifying as a tax adviser.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Finbarr is an associate of the Irish Taxation Institute (ITI). He holds a Masters in International Marketing from Smurfit School of Business, University College Dublin.
