Experience

Tony has twenty years consulting experience, primarily in Ireland, but also in the U.K., Africa and the Middle East. He joined the firm in 2006 from a Dublin financial services firm.

During his career to date he has been involved in strategy development, operations reviews and determining the financial implications of strategic and operational change in both the public and private sectors. 

Sector experience

Tony has extensive experience in the construction, local government and retail and distribution sectors. He is the author of a number of public policy reports such as the “Funding of Local Government in Ireland” (Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, 1996) and “The Dynamics of the Retail Sector in Ireland” (Forfás, 1999).  More recently he was responsible for a major review of the construction sector – “The Consumer and the Home Construction Industry in Ireland” – which was commissioned by the National Consumer Agency. 

Tony has led a number of public policy reviews, such as a study for the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government on social housing policy and the review for the Department of Social and Family Affairs of its customer facing services.

He has also developed a strong expertise in public sector organisation and operations development, particularly in reviews focused on improving operating efficiencies.

Tony has led economic appraisals of publicly funded projects for third level institutions, local authorities and other public bodies.

He has led assignments aimed at improving the performance of private sector organisations, whether through cost reduction, cash management or revenue enhancement.

Professional qualifications and memberships

Tony is an engineer by profession and completed his MBA in University College Dublin. He is a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and a Director of the Institute of Management Consultants and Advisers.
