Strategic organisation review

The environment in which organisations are operating is constantly changing and we have worked with many organisations, in both the public and private sectors, to review their organisations from a strategic perspective so as to meet these changing demands.

Our strategic organisation review service offering is based on a structured methodology that works through the various issues impacting on organisations at this level. These include issues such as leadership and governance, values and culture, roles and functions and reporting relationships; and results in an assessment of “the fit” between these areas and the future vision for the organisation.

Our approach is designed to realign the organisation structure, at a strategic level, to its future direction, in order to maximise performance and improve strategic responsiveness. Recommendations are developed jointly with the management team to have a high degree of ownership and buy-in within the organisation.

Case study
Grant Thornton carried out a strategic organisation review on behalf of the
Department of Social and Family Affairs. The purpose of this review was to determine what services should be delivered in the Department’s frontline environment in the future and how these services should be provided. It also investigated alternative channels for service delivery, should the frontline approach not be appropriate.
