An employer sponsored pension scheme or group pension scheme is a pension plan set up by an employer for the benefit of their employees. The employer makes a contribution to the fund and the employee is usually required to contribute to the fund. There are two types of employer sponsored pension schemes, defined contribution and defined benefit.
