Experience
Paul McCann is our Managing Partner and he is also a senior partner in our Advisory department in Dublin. He has extensive corporate finance, corporate insolvency and corporate restructuring experience.
Paul was admitted to the partnership in 2001 and has concentrated on providing lead advisory services to companies, venture capitalists and financial institutions. He was appointed Managing Partner in January 2012.
Paul advises companies in financial difficulty helping them create turnaround strategies. In some cases, he takes on the role of examiner, receiver or liquidator.
Sector experience
Paul's corporate finance experience includes:
- advisor to Kingspan Group Plc. on all key European acquisitions;
- advisor to Keeling’s on all significant transactions in the food sector;
- lead advisor to Ergo Services Limited;
- lead advisor to the vendor of a leading recruitment firm; and
- lead advisor to disposal syndicate of banks regarding a €200m facility of a trading group.
Paul's corporate recovery experience includes:
- appointed Receiver to Zoe Group (Ireland) Limited in 2009;
- appointed Examiner to O’Brien’s Sandwich Bars in 2009;
- appointed Receiver to Bowen Construction in 2011;
- appointed Administrator to Quinn Insurance Limited in 2010; and
- appointed Receiver to the Burlington, Cork International Airport and Parknasilla hotels in January 2012.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Paul is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) and is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Queens University, Belfast and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Management from Trinity College Dublin. Paul also holds an Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Graduate School of Business, University College Dublin (UCD).
