Experience
Paul McCann, Managing Partner, leads our Advisory department in Dublin. He has extensive corporate finance, corporate insolvency and corporate restructuring experience.

Paul was admitted to the partnership in 2001 and has concentrated on providing lead advisory and restructuring services to companies, venture capitalists and financial institutions.

Paul advises companies in financial difficulty, helping them create turnaround strategies. In some cases, he takes on the role of examiner, receiver or liquidator.

He was appointed Managing Partner in January 2012.

Sector experience
Paul's corporate finance and restructuring experience includes:

  • advisor to Kingspan Group Plc. on all key European acquisitions;
  • advisor to Keelings on all significant transactions in the food sector;
  • lead advisor to the RS Sakes Group on its disposal;
  • lead advisor to the vendor of a leading recruitment firm; and
  • lead advisor to a building materials company on its €20 million disposal.

Paul's corporate recovery experience includes:

  • appointed Receiver to Zoe Group (Ireland) Limited in 2009;
  • appointed Examiner to O'Briens Sandwich Bars in 2009
  • appointed Liquidator to Flightlease (Ireland) Limited in 2004; and
  • appointed Administrator to Quinn Insurance Limited in 2010.

Professional qualifications and memberships
Paul is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) and is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Queens University, Belfast and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Management from Trinity College Dublin.

Paul also holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Graduate School of Business, University College Dublin (UCD).
