Experience
John joined Grant Thornton in 2004 and was appointed to the partnership in 2009. 

Previously he worked with Big Four firms in both Dublin and New York.

Sector experience
John specialises in providing a range of audit and assurance services to the financial services sector with particular focus on investment funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, asset managers, aircraft leasing vehicles, other investment vehicles and start up companies.

He has worked on a wide range of investment funds, from unlisted hedge funds to SEC registered investment companies ranging in size from US$10 million to in excess of US$40 billion.

He has a broad range of experience and has provided audit and assurance services to clients in a number of different commercial sectors including both multinational and owner managed businesses.

Professional qualifications and memberships
He has a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree from University College Galway and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI).
