PRESS RELEASE
16 May 2008
Grant Thornton Ireland has appointed Paul Raleigh as its Managing Partner for a third successive three-year term. He will be the first partner at the prestigious audit, financial planning and advisory services firm to serve more than two terms as Managing Partner. He was originally appointed as Managing Partner in February 2003.
Paul trained with the firm, then spent time in Brussels working on EU consultancy projects before returning to set up the firms successful Corporate Finance division. He was appointed to the Board of Governors of Grant Thornton International in 2006.
Grant Thornton has enjoyed exceptional success over the past five years and has recorded the best organic growth of any accountancy firm in Ireland.
Mr Raleigh and his management team succesfully negotiated and managed mergers with PKF in late 2003 and with RSM Robson Rhodes in June of last year. The firm now has a fee income of €45 million with 420 partners and staff in offices in Dublin, Limerick and Kildare.
“In 2003 we had fees of €14 million and 120 people. We set about a growth strategy based on developing specialist business units and skills to meet the needs of our clients and the changing market." said Paul Raleigh.
“I see my reappointment as an endorsement of the Grant Thornton management team and the commitment of the entire firm to achieve the goals we agreed in 2003."
“We are in the process of completing a new strategy to bring us up to 2012. We believe our plans will continue to deliver significant growth but we will be staying true to the values which are the foundations of our success.”
