New managing partner

Leading Irish business advisory firm Grant Thornton has appointed Paul McCann as its new Managing Partner. Paul McCann will take the helm of Grant Thornton Ireland from January 2012, when current Managing Partner Paul Raleigh moves to join Grant Thornton International’s Global Leadership Team.

Paul McCann has been a Partner in Grant Thornton since 2001 and has extensive corporate finance, corporate insolvency and corporate restructuring experience. He has headed up the firm’s Advisory Services unit since 2003. In the last few years, Paul has also been appointed by the High Court to manage a number of high-profile Irish corporate restructurings.

He will continue to build on Grant Thornton’s strong relationships with financial institutions in advising client businesses on restructuring plans. Paul’s day-to-day role in control of many key recovery assignments will likewise continue.

Grant Thornton has emerged as Ireland’s fastest growing accountancy and audit firm having grown its revenues from €14 million in 2003 to more than €43 million in the last year.
