Overview
The financial services (FS) practice has shown consistent growth and is looking to enhance capacity. The role will suit an ambitious motivated person who is willing and interested in getting involved in all aspects of the role. The current portfolio is heavily funds focused (with some managers, SPVs etc) and we are keen to broaden this out to include other opportunities.
Duties and responsibilities
- take responsibility for a portfolio of FS clients;
- assist the team including motivating them, getting administration tasks allocated and completed including staff and job allocation, job planning, training needs, staff issues, identification of resources required etc;
- act as a technical resource for FS covering a range of accounting standards to include US GAAP, IFRS and Irish accounting standards. This will include training and the production of internal and external technical information;
- supervise and train more junior members of the dedicated FS staff to ensure that firm standards are maintained throughout the entire audit process;
- manage portfolio, including work in progress, billing, cash collection and budgeting; and
- review the work of seniors on assigned jobs.
Position requirements
- ACA/ ACCA qualified;
- audit experience of financial services entities (or potentially recent audit experience together with experience of working in the FS sector);
- extensive knowledge of IFRS, US and Irish GAAP;
- the ability to motivate and manage staff under tight deadlines;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- portfolio management experience;
- electronic auditing experience;
- proven network of contacts in FS;
- experience of working as part of a team supporting others; and
- be commercially aware.
