Reporting to: Partner and director for Audit and assurance (Public Interest Entity)
Grant Thornton has experienced significant growth in recent years, and is regarded as the accountancy firm with the biggest organic growth in Ireland. Grant Thornton International has continued to achieve substantial growth annually, and is the 5th largest international accountancy network globally.Grant Thornton Ireland established its Public Interest Entities (PI) department in 2007. The PI department specialises in providing auditing and assurance services to publicly listed companies, international organisations and large private companies. Since its inception it has grown considerably and amongst others has won the audit of two NASDAQ listed clients.
Arising from this growth we are seeking to strengthen our existing PI audit team with a senior to meet the needs of current and future clients.
Outline
You will be self-motivated, capable of working on your own initiative and have the ability to plan, control and complete audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. Duties and responsibilities
- planning and schedule audits;
- liaising onsite with clients to obtain relevant information in order to resolve any queries;
- investigating all audit issues to arrive at a solution or proposal;
- preparing reports detailing issues found and recommending corrective and preventative actions to resolve them; and
- leading and developing staff.
Position requirements
- qualified accountant with at least one years post qualified experience in the audit or professional standards department of a large accountancy firm (top 10);
- excellent communication skills;
- strong technical competence;
- strong interpersonal skills; and
- initiative and attention to detail.
